Leuven (BE), 4-6 December 2013

vendredi 30 août 2013, par Guillaume Berthon

On the 4th of December 2013, it will be 450 years since the Council of Trent (1545-1563) was solemnly brought to a close. This Council had an enormous impact on developments in religion and politics, not only in Europe but also beyond. An international conference will be held in Leuven on the occasion of this anniversary, from the 4th to the 6th of December 2013. About eighty historians, theologians, art historians and musicologists will discuss both the Council and its impact. Key-note speakers include : Robert Bireley (Loyola University Chicago), Emidio Campi (Universität Zürich), Pierre-Antoine Fabre (EHESS, Paris), Ignasi Fernández Terricabras (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona), Nicole Lemaître (Université Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne), John O’Malley (Georgetown University, Washington), Marc Venard (Paris X, Nanterre), and Günther Wassilowsky (Katholisch Theologische Privatuniversität Linz).
